The Werewood

You are walking on a narrow path. Alongside the path you see various
symbols carved into the trees. Here and there you see small leather bags
hanging from limbs, obviously some kind of ward. The forest beyond the
path is shrouded in fog, making it difficult to see far. You can hear
strange sounds from all directions, and every now and then, You catch
movement from the corner of your eye, but never can quite make out what it
is.
You might want to keep an eye on the path.
