Citan Uzuki (Kanku Tree)

Citan Uzuki, the Kankun Sage

This kanku appears rather young to be a sage, yet he is definately a

full-grown adult kanku. Although you were unexpected, he looks at you rather
calmly, displaying a warm smile. He is studying kankun books and he holds one
in his hands. It reads 'Kankun Legend.'

Citan appears in Kanku Tree, on Sosel.

When asked about "kanku":

Citan Uzuki exclaims 'The kanku are an ancient and mysterious race. They once
lived everywhere but retreated back to their homeland of Raji. The kanku
you see here are a fiesty bunch of young'uns who took it upon themselves
to find a less dull place than their reclusive homeland of Raji. They
disobeyed their parents and came here, where they build their own
culture and rules. All they seem to do all day is play!'

When asked about "book":

Citan Uzuki exclaims 'The book I'm reading concerns Kankun legend and myths.
I'm reading up about some ancient scrolls that are supposedly hidden
within this tree. That is why I'm here, you know! I came in search of
the scrolls and to observe the young kanku. I'm looking to see if I can
find the scrolls by means of magic, because it seems like I've searched
everywhere! … Oh, and speaking of books, I have written a book for
translating the Kankun dialect to English. Would you like to buy one
from me? They are only 500 gold pieces!'

When asked about "scrolls":

Citan Uzuki exclaims 'Oh, these scrolls contain some information about a
secret treasure hidden by some of the Ancient Sages. Not only do we want
to locate the scroll, which we believe were stolen by the young kanku,
but if they fall into the wrong hands, the treasure may be uncovered by
the wrong person!'

When asked about "plank":

Citan Uzuki exclaims 'The purpose of the hidden planks is to stop all kanku
who even figure out I'm here! I see you're quite an intelligent one,
though!'

When asked about "contraption":

Citan Uzuki exclaims 'Ah, well that was something I brought along to tinker
with, as looking for the scrolls is rather boring. It will actually use
the forces of nature to power you through the veins of this tree. It
will take you to somewhere in the middle of the tree, most likely. To
use it, board the contraption and then shift the lever. The process is
somewhat draining, though, but it's probably a better idea than trying
to find your way back through my invisible maze! Haha!'

He is an important part of the Area Quest here, as noted in the quest steps under the map for each level.
(note: I might add his conservation for all quest steps here the next time I do it. If you do it first, feel free to do so yourself!)

This book translates the Kankun dialect to the common tonuge. You could
probably 'translate' some things written or said in kankun with this.

Allows you to understand what the kanku say if you "ask" them about stuff, and read some inscriptions and signs in the kanku tree.
